PARENT VIEWS

Although we are new to the Waterfall College family, the move has been the best decision we have made in my son's school career.  He is more relaxed and interested in all areas of learning and is generally a happier person.  The small classes ensure individual attention, so beneficial in peaking the interest of students in subjects and ensuring that all work is grasped.  The interest shown by the teachers and their experience in their respective subjects is paramount to the high standard that the students achieve.  It is a wonderful friendly environment, where we believe, children are allowed to grow and excel.

My son has been at a Primary School for 7 years and has always had to push that much harder to fit in.  We visited Waterfall College in March 2008 and we have never looked back.  The minute we walked into the school we felt warm and comfortable, my son said, “this is the school mommy”.  I said, “Boy are you sure? You have 5 years to go through this school” and he said, “definitely!”.  Since arriving this year (2009) for Grade 8, my son has excelled in his school work, excited to go to school, sits each evening doing his homework.  This is a great achievement.  In brief my child is happy, excited and most of all getting the best education any parent could ask for.  Thank you Waterfall College and all the super teachers that make their stay at school extremely enjoyable.

We have had nothing but praise for Waterfall College. The classes are small and intimate. The rapport between teachers and pupils is amazing. As a result the pupils are motivated and have self-confidence. It is the best decision we ever made to move our son to this school.

I think that the structure of the school is great. I for one really appreciate all the feedback that we get. It keeps us updated on any possible problems before they get out of hand. The small classes really help to assist those kids who tend to get lost and left behind in the system. Personally, Waterfall brought out the best in Stjohn and he became a much more confident person.
There is also a lot more interaction between parents and teachers with the feeling from my side that your doors are always open and we are always welcome to discuss anything with you
All in all, Waterfall has brought both my sons on really well, it has strong foundations and very good moral traditions in place. It still has that feeling though that it is a family unit. Well done to you and your staff for all the hard work that you have put into the school.

Since we moved Chris to Waterfall we can't believe he's the same child. From failing and hating every minute of the school term, we now have a son who is achieving and enjoying his days at school. The commitment and dedication of the staff is an absolute joy to behold and we would recommend the school to anybody who is concerned about their child's education. It's the best decision we ever made.

After passing Grade 9 by a breath, I phoned Jeanette in desperation, asking if I could move Wesley to Waterfall College. She gave Wesley a chance. Not being able to take Ritalin due to Motocross rules, passed by FIM, he became a very unhappy, moody, number at the school he was at. The first thing I noticed about Wesley, the first day I fetched him from Waterfall, was that he was 'SMILING'. This will always stick with me. The small classes and one on one attention he got that first year was incredible. Okay, he went from 8% to 29% for Afrikaans in the first term, and it was still a fail, but Jeanette and I used to smile because it was an improvement (not to other people, but to us). He has gone from strength to strength at Waterfall College, obtaining full sporting colours for Motorcross (no other school recognised this), being Sportsman of the year, eventually passing Grade 11 and getting to Matric, being made a Prefect (I mean who would have thought) (mine and Louis most proud moment). His highest mark in Matric for Maths was 76% (unbelievable), and he just never missed a day of school because he never wanted to go. He has the utmost respect for his teachers and peers, and has turned out to be a fantastically well rounded 18 year old who we are very proud of. We thank Waterfall College from the bottom of our hearts. Who knows where he would have been if he hadn't been given that chance.

We have nothing but praise for the Educators at Waterfall College. At the beginning of 2009 our youngest son started Gr. 8 as we felt the smaller environment would be better for his personality, he has since thrived and loves the school. Six weeks into the term we took a huge step in moving our older son who was a top achiever at another school, to Waterfall College. He also enjoys the warm friendly atmosphere in a school with strict discipline, where it is expected of every child to respect one another and the teachers. Both get an excellent education and are encouraged to achieve to their full potential. After school they are free to pursue extracurricular activities that they really enjoy. A huge thank you to Mrs. Van Der Merwe, Mrs. Winter and all the other teachers.
