Support of the Elderly
On Spring Day, Waterfall College students traditionally bring potted plants and bunches of colourful spring flowers from home. The HOPE committee then visit the Waterfall Retirement Village to present these to the elderly residents in the Personal care Unit during their tea time.
Support of Vulnerable Women and Children
Activities in this area include the collection of clothes for homeless families in our community and ‘carebags’ for the Jes Foord Foundation. These are handbags filled with specific items that had been personally purchased by parent and student donors for the foundation to pass on to rape victims.

Waterfall College students have spent Friday afternoons at a crèche in Shongweni playing games with the children. The iThemba Academy children have enjoyed an Easter egg hunt with our HOPE Committee.
Support of Animals in Need
Waterfall College students have helped to care for animals at Mazarat Kennels in Waterfall on Friday afternoons. Just walking and petting the animals, many of whom have are rescued or abandoned, provides welcome love and support. A number of students also help at various branches of the SPCA.
Support of The Environment
Waterfall College students have participated in beach clean-ups after school to help in the protection of our environment as well as the ‘Keep Hillcrest Beautiful’ initiative through picking up litter in our community. This area counts towards the Environment Portfolio of the school as well.
