A new logo for Waterfall College

Waterfall College has been through quite a metamorphosis since it was founded in 2004, growing from a small cottage school in the backyard of Waterfall Christ Church to a thriving independent school with a 100% IEB Matric pass rate and a reputation for bringing the best out in its students.

This is thanks to the power of prayer and the incredible commitment of staff and parents, who have supported Principal Jeanette van der Merwe in her drive to deliver an excellent education. “We can hardly believe how our school has grown,” says Mrs van der Merwe. “We are so grateful to everyone who has supported us over the years and especially to Focus on iThemba and the donors who have helped develop our facilities.”

With the establishment of Waterfall Schools in 2016, the College was joined on the iThemba Campus by Waterfall Pre-Primary and then Waterfall Preparatory, creating a complete educational pathway from 12 months to Grade 12.

iThemba means ‘Place of Hope’ and there could be no more apt name for this beautiful piece of land that has been brought to life with hundreds of feet, from the pitter patter of toddlers, learning to walk in the Pre-Primary, to the barefoot joy of the Prep and the confident strides of the young adults in the College, preparing to head out into the world.

To reflect this development and the growing community, Waterfall College will adopt the wreath of Waterfall Schools. The original logo will be reserved for special occasions. The new logo will be used in all communication and advertising from the start of the fourth term, but it will be phased in elsewhere. The Kit Shop, particularly, has a number items with the old logo, which will be suitable for a while to come.

“This is an exciting step in the evolution of our school. We look forward with faith and hope for what the future holds,” says Mrs Van.
