Parent Action Group

As we grow as a school, we are grateful for the contribution of our parents, who assist in so many ways, from co-hosting events to offering professional advice, donating eats and other goods, and getting their hands dirty with the odd construction project! The Insele Trail, the College Media Centre, the Prep bathroom decor and the water fountain are just a few examples where parents have used their energy and expertise to enhance our facilities.

While you do not have to be a member of the Parent Action Group (PAG) to lend a hand, the PAG provides an informal platform for parents to take their involvement in the school to the next level.

“I see it as a way for parents to assist the principals in making the school as appealing as possible to all stakeholders – pupils, parents, staff and potential new families,” said 2018 Chairperson, Kevin Waterston.

“For me, it’s all about the personal connection,” says College parent Tracey Done. “We all know how difficult it can be to get information out of a teenager! Being part of the PAG provides a window into life at the school and has given me the opportunity to get to know teachers and fellow parents.”

“I learned more about the school in one PAG meeting than I did in the rest of the year,” said Prep parent Andrew Du Toit. “It’s the best way to understand the heart of the people who look after our kids.”

The PAG works on a project basis, drawing on interested parents, where necessary. To find out how you can get involved, contact Marketing and Communications Manager Hayley Dennyson on hayley@waterfallschools.co.za.

The next Parent Action Group Open Evening will take place on Thursday, 24 October 2019 at 18.00 in the Hall. Join us to hear from the Principals and find out how you can be part of our schools’ growth in 2020.
