Waterfall College has a growing sports department, headed by Mr Liam Smith. The school focuses on areas that enable the students to compete regularly using the facilities on campus, thus encouraging a healthy lifestyle and a culture of team spirit.

This offering complements the multitude of external sports available to students through community clubs. Current school sporting activities include Karate, Rugby (7s and Touch Rugby), Soccer (Boys and Girls), Netball, Tennis, Advanced Fitness, Cross Country and Mountain Biking. *Our basketball court is in the process of being relocated due to classroom construction.

Sport is an important part of a well-rounded education and we aim to expose our students to a range of sports to promote physical and emotional wellbeing.

Three of our boys have been selected to play in the Maritzburg College 7s Tournament in previous years.

Hockey: Girls’ field hockey was introduced in 2020.

Cross Country: Cross country is a popular choice for boys and girls, who make use of the 6km Insele Trail on the iThemba Campus. The College hosts an annual cross country event, with up to 400 runners.
