Unearthing the treasure in every child,
from Grade R to 7

Learning experience

We believe that learning should be an organic process guided by passionate teachers.

With a maximum class size of 24, there is time for each child to receive individual attention from their teacher. We have had the opportunity to ask ‘why’ of everything, drawing on the best of local and international best practice, whilst striving for an environment free of fear, anxiety, pressure and stress.

We follow the CAPS curriculum, as set down by the Department of Basic Education, with additional elements added in preparation for the IEB requirements of high school.

Our Faith

We believe that each child is created by God, with a plan and purpose for their life in its uniqueness and with the treasures that He has laid within. We encourage and model the example set by Jesus Christ in loving and respecting all people and of seeking the good in them. We aim to interact using actions and words that build and celebrate each other.

Sport

Situated on a unique and beautiful campus with 41 acres of grounds, our boys and girls can explore and stretch their legs

We encourage our children to enjoy an active lifestyle by engaging with nature during relevant lessons, participating in sport on campus and in local school leagues.

“Welcome to Waterfall Prep, where we aim to create an environment where connection truly is key, where all children love to learn and where each child is able to express their uniqueness and qualities, without fear of failure, stress or anxiety.”

Natasha Joyce
Head of Foundation Phase

In this foundational and key phase of a child’s learning, we are intentional about building confidence in our learners whilst ensuring that they are receiving the best possible opportunities for learning, both in and outside the classroom. We want children to develop self awareness, respect and empathy for others, determination and a continued love for learning.”

Lauren Rendilheiro
Head of Intermediate Phase

“We strive to help learners realise their unique strengths by encouraging them to be themselves. Our aim is for children to enter the high school phase of their learning as confident, considerate, critical thinkers who will make meaningful contributions in their communities.”

Lorraine Benn
HOD: Pupil Support

At Waterfall Preparatory, every child matters.  We strive to reach not only their minds, but also their hearts. Through forming authentic and sincere connections with our learners, our mission is to ensure that each child in our care knows they are a valued and loved member of the school community. Helping children build a solid identity and understand their self-worth means they can leave equipped for the purpose God has called them to.”
