Unearthing the treasure in every child,
from Grade R to 7
Learning experience
We believe that learning should be an organic process guided by passionate teachers.
With a maximum class size of 24, there is time for each child to receive individual attention from their teacher. We have had the opportunity to ask ‘why’ of everything, drawing on the best of local and international best practice, whilst striving for an environment free of fear, anxiety, pressure and stress.

Our Faith
We believe that each child is created by God, with a plan and purpose for their life in its uniqueness and with the treasures that He has laid within. We encourage and model the example set by Jesus Christ in loving and respecting all people and of seeking the good in them. We aim to interact using actions and words that build and celebrate each other.
Sport
Sport is an important part of our school experience, with 9 sports on offer and regular interschool fixtures.
From cricket to netball, hockey, soccer and more, we offer both team and individual sports – giving every child the chance to stretch themselves, to learn new sporting and life skills, while having fun and building school spirit.

Our technology curriculum is grounded in three key pillars: Online Safety, Work Skills and Digital Citizenship. We aim to prepare every Waterfall Prep child for the digital world we live in – one that requires not only technical competence, but also personal responsibility, critical thinking and discernment.
From Grade 3 through to Grade 7, our pupils follow a progressive, age-appropriate programme that builds essential digital skills step by step. This journey begins with foundational device use and develops into responsible online behaviour, safe and effective research, basic coding concepts, awareness of social media and its impact, and the ethical, thoughtful use of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence.
In Grade 7, all students are required to have their own Chromebook for use at school. Waterfall Prep is a Google School.
Aftercare
Supervised by a dedicated team of carers while they play and learn
Our Aftercare was opened in 2024 and is located below the Prep sports field, with facilities that allow the ultimate care for our pupils while they learn and play. Managed by Mrs van Zyl and her team of dedicated staff, pupils have supervised homework sessions and access to the facilities and beautiful open spaces of the iThemba Campus.
Aftercare is open to Waterfall Schools pupils from Grade R to Grade 7, running until 17:00 from Monday to Friday. We also offer Holiday Care during school holidays, which is a fun and safe way to ensure your little ones are taken care of while parents are at work.
To enquire about Aftercare, call 031 710 1814 or email hello@waterfallprep.co.za.

Through forming authentic and sincere connections with our learners, our mission is to ensure that each child in our care knows they are a valued and loved member of the school community. Helping children build a solid identity and understand their self-worth means they can leave equipped for the purpose God has called them to.”
